Meet Team Zello: Bob, Casey, and Rachel

Written by Raphael Varieras | March 30, 2019

Meet some more of our incredibly talented team members as we continue with another installment of our "Meet Team Zello" blog series.

We asked each team member to provide their job title, a personal statement about “Why Zello?”, and one interesting factoid about themselves. Today, we’re pleased to introduce our team members Bob, Casey, and Rachel:

Bob Baumann

Job Title: Director of Business Development

Why Zello: "Zello offers me an amazing chance to be involved in helping clients around the world change the way they think about team communications. What may begin as a conversation about replacing old 2-way radios often becomes a discussion on innovating their workflow processes. Zello puts instant, reliable, and efficient communications in the hands of every team member in a cost-effective way that is unmatched by any other solution. I sometimes think I have the easiest job in the world talking about Zello and often jokingly say, "but, please don't tell my boss I said that!"

Interesting Factoid: "As soon as everyone in the world is using Zello, I will be answering the calling described by the poet, John Masefield - I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide. Then you'll find me on windy day with a tall ship and a star to steer her by!"

Casey Partenio

Job Title: Creative Director, Marketing

Why Zello: “Even as a kid, I always wanted to be in a creative role. I love working with startups, because there is a certain willingness to assume risk that in turn makes you more creative. It drives curiosity and desire for experimentation. When a Creative Director role opened up at Zello, I jumped on the opportunity to take part in the evolution of an already established brand.

As a visual communicator, it was very appealing to work for a communications tool. Especially one that has done so much good for the world. I joined the company the day after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas. During my first week, we were talking to virtually every major newspaper and cable network. It was incredible to hear about all of the rescue efforts that Zello aided in coordinating during that time. To be able to work for a visionary company that has empowered so many people to save lives is ultimate career happiness for me."

Interesting Factoid: “There was this one time back in college when I was stranded on a deserted island for two days off the coast of Georgia. If Zello were around at the time, I would have probably only been stranded for a few hours.

Rachel See

Job Title: Junior Software Test Engineer

Why Zello: “I chose to work at Zello because in my opinion, it’s hard to find a job that engenders emotional sentiment, while also challenging technical proficiency. Hearing about about Zello playing a role in Hurricane Harvey relief response impacted me on a personal level. I’m originally from Houston and several of my family and friends were susceptible to flooding. It’s important for me to work for a company that is human-centric and cares about helping others and providing tools, in a time of need.“

Interesting Factoid: “For my first job, once I finished my bachelor's degree, I was an endangered species observer. I worked offshore on oil derrick barges and performed surveys for animals protected under the endangered species and marine mammal protection act. I used to live in Galveston and I miss the ocean quite a bit.
