  1. Although you say the wifi quality is better on the iPhone, you do not make it at all clear that this only applies to one-on-one conversations, not in channels. I had gotten the update with the hope that channels would be saying good bye to that 8K sound, to be rather disappointed.
I sincerely hope this will be addressed in a further update if at all possible.
The app is much much better with VoiceOver, and easier-to-use as a result, so good work on that front.
I hope you will continue to make a useful and fun product.

  2. Hi Andre, thanks again for your feedback! The challenge with public channels voice quality is created by wide range of mobile platforms we have to support. BlackBerry in particular only supports 8 kHz sound and more then 40% of Zello users are on BlackBerry. Transcoding on server side could help but not currently feasible.

  3. I have attempted to get into the whole Zello thing a year or so ago. I came across it when it was “Loud Talk,” and thought the concept was neat. I, being an avid iPhone user, discarded the service for the much more versatile HeyTell, which still has it’s uses. Now that we have Zello, I look forward to being able to take advantage of its multi device support and channels to enjoy a better PTT experience. Too bad about the sound, though. I hope to see exciting new updates soon.
