Loudtalks Lite for BlackBerry is released

By Alexey Gavrilov on May 19, 2011

The long anticipated Loudtalks client for BlackBerry platform is available for download today. Please join the beta test and report any issues you face. To download the application visit http://loudtalks.com/bb/ on your BlackBerry.

The application allows you to talk to other BlackBerry users as well as to users of Windows desktop and Windows Mobile apps if they are using the new version of the client (at least 1.3).

This beta release (version 1.0.1) has the following limitations:

  1. No messages history
  2. Changing online status has no functional effect unlike Windows version where setting status to Away or Busy allows to receive the messages without playing them back right away
  3. Impossible to view the list of the users connected to a public channel

Please share any feedback you might have!

Loudtalks Cloud and Loudtalks Mesh clients for BlackBerry are expected within 2 weeks once the beta test of Loudtalks Lite is completed.

  13. The only problem I have is when I sign in some of my contacts disapear n I have to add them again, and I think it would be cooler if there would be a notification when somebody calls you and you dont answer back, kind of a missed call…. But anyway its freakin awesome!!! Best app of them all!!

  14. If you want to use it with 3g go to options, then select the option TCP only, and the other two options as well. That should let you connect.

  35. hey, I’m running loudtalks on bold 9000 on Bell Network. It will not let me run the app on anything other than wifi (i work for bell so data is unlimited).. What do i do?

    Comment by Jaymal — June 13, 2011 @ 4:23 am

  36. Very cool app however the BB battery does not last more than an hour or so when using. This kills the whole purpose of the app as I still want to be able to do email, send pictures and have calls. Can this be improved so battery can last 24hrs?This way I can have the app , talk and do my normal stuff over the BB.

  40. following limitations HAVE TO BE ADDED!!

    No messages history

Changing online status has no functional effect unlike Windows version where setting status to Away or Busy allows to receive the messages without playing them back right away

These are the two main things that would make this app amazing!

  43. its pretty amazing! you should try to fix that problem that the beta version for bb has that you cant be busy or away and decide when to play de message. And it consumes a lot of battery.

  59. Works VERY well on Desktop & Blackberry (when BB is connected via WiFi) A lot slower (setup & reply) when using Verizon Wireless 3G. Odd however that connecting to a preexisting CHANNEL is faster than a 1-1 over 3G. Suggestion: have system ‘hang’ on last caller for 10 or 15 seconds so you can reply w/o seeing who called you. Thank you
